Default are my egt too high?

basicaly i need to know what is bad for egt's i have stock everything besides i got an adreinaline with an aftermarket clutch. so motor wise it is stock with my adrenaline turned up and bombing it i can spike my egt to about 1400 degrees... i have blocked off the turbo wast gate about 90% so i can make just shy of 30psi and moving the extra 6psi from stock helped lower them and all i get is about 1200 - 1300 now.what is a dangerus nmber?

Aluminum Melts at 1250 Degrees. So if you run at that temp all the time, think its time for upgrades, such as a new Exhaust manifold, and damn you have an 8'' exhuast???? overkill aint it. I run at 900, towing 12K up wolfcreek pass

VGT turbo is a lot of work to make work on these trucks, or a lot of money. What kind of air filtration system do you have? I don't see one mentioned in your sig. Also check your air to air and radiator for any external debris.

Seems you numbers are OK for now though. Unless they stay at 1200+ for long periods of time, you should be OK.

Yep if you clean your intercooler put a fine mesh in front of it so you can just pull that off instead of having to pull of the intercooler to clean it.. VGT are cool but like said above alot of work and money. You can reach high temperatures but just how long are they stayin above 1200 degress??? if its only wile your screwin around you shouldent worrie if its doing wile your driving you have a problem, but a new exhaust manifold will help keep thing cool, move a little more exhaust thru, my Pyro before the turbo also its on the right side of my exhaust manifold I have a DPS Manifold.

My truck runs around 850-1100 degrees just driving without the water meth and a lot of people I've talked to say that's not but I don't like it. If ur stayin under 1000 driving you should be fine
