Default How Do I Get Smoke?

hey guys i recently bought my first diesel truck and so far im in love with it and glad i finally spent the money on one. but now its time to add upgrades. i already kno gauges need to b my first add on and currently looking at them. what gauges do i need the worst. pyro, fuel pressuer and do i go tranny temp or boost? the truck is a 01 with a auto tranny, kinda wishing iwould of found a manual but o well to late for that. the truck is my dd truck. it will sumtimes see a 30' gooseneck trailer with possibly a mud truck on it or a 16' bumper car trailer with a skid loader or a 16' stock trailer with 4-5 1500 cows. but that wont b very offten. i want to put stacks on it and get it to blow a decent amount of smoke when i get on. the truck already has a hyperteh in it. what is the easiest way to get the truck to blow black? i thought of sum injectors but dont want to worry about getting it to hot. and idk how big of injectors i really need to go. so what do u guys recomend to add to get a decent amount of smoke but still b safe on the truck?

my ddp 80 put out some smoke. with the edge comp really smokey. but also easy to controll.

i would seggest a nice adjustable box and maybe 75-100 hp injectors.
i tow about 6k all the time. and the adjustable chip makes evrything nice. but i do seggest a turbo upgrade soon too. mine did ok on the stock turbo. but much nicer with a bd superb turbo.

#1 Gauges- Pyro, Boost and Fuel Pressure

#2 Edge Comp or Quad Adrenaline

#3 FASS Fuel System

#4 Tranny Upgrades

#5 Injectors

There a good starting point

I would definitely get a set of gauges, we offer packages .

I would defintely invest in a FASS high pressure fuel pump or complete FASS system with filters to replace your stock lift pump ASAP.

The lift pumps fail often on these trucks, and when the VP44 injection pump is starved for fuel they fail quickly, quickly racking you a bill up to $1400+ for a new pump plus install labor.

The Quadzilla Adrenaline offers 10 power levels from mild fuel economy settings to wild (180RWHP gains). It also offers a fuel pressure, tranmission temperature, exhaust gas temperature (EGT), boost pressure, and other readings all on the monitor.

The Edge Juice with Attiude offers similar features to the Quadzilla Adrenaline, but doesn't offer as many settings & it doesn't have the high hp gains like the Adrenaline.

As for stacks, there are full kits for turbo back, universal, single & dual kits.

There is also exhaust cutout gate that would allow you to easily switch from stacks to a tail-pipe style exhaust exit. This will keep the smoke off your cattle trailer a little better.

If you plan on going big with horsepower, I would suggest a full transmission from Goerend Transmission. They can get you set up with a full transmission and converter with a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty.

Let me know if I can help!

Regardless of the brands or shops you decide on Luke is absolutuely right in his order of precedence for this project. Guages have to be first, closely followed by an upgrade to the fueling system. If your truck is an Auotmatic once you hit this point your tranny will be iffy on when it needs to be done. You may be able to get by with a fueling box and just be gentle with it until you get the tranny work done.

Be sure to fill out your signature though so we know what you have.

You know on a street truck that black smoke going out your exhaust isn't nothing but wasted HP. And it will eventually get you a ticket.
