Default tuners

i have an 02 cummins i want to put a tuner/ programmer on it. i am looking at a smarty or a ts mvp. i also want to to put a vgt on my truck shortly down the road so i am surous on what would be the best tuner for my truck...any suggestions

Edge Juice with Attitude i think is the best. either that or the smaty

go with the quadzilla adrenaline.. it is the most power by far it uses all three ways to increase power. it 1.)advances the fuel timing 2.) pump strech 3.) injector psi... thats the three best ways to get power... with the vgt it will not smoke at all but with my truck i got the stock hx35 and i smoke like crazzy untill i get the turbo lit up.. i blocked off my turbo waist gate and i get 35 psi out of my hx35 when doing that there is not even a haiz of smoke. if you get the pulse v2 you can make miner changes to fit your truck the best. i made it so my truck does not smoke that bad (but that is less power) when the turbo gets in then it applys more fuel. i also have it all out fuel so it snaps like a little v8 car but it smokes like crazy!!

First what do you want? Do you want to be able to change tunes on the fly or load one and go? Do you want gauges? Do you want any features such as a turbo timer? Everyone claiming that the Quad makes more power than the Edge i would like to see dyno numbers. I have had an Edge on mine for 3 years and love it.

Most of the heavier programmers advance timing and maximize pulse width. How are you planning on running your VGT? Fleece controller or are you taking off the electronics? I just finished my VGT swap and its not an easy process if you are planning on running the controller. Its not just plug and play. Scott, unplug your waste gate.

how do you unplug it? i have it blocked off with a gate valve..

Its never a good idea to plug or block off your waste gate because then you greatly increase your chances of over-speeding the turbo.

i wont need guages cause i already have them, i honestly dont need to change onthe go, but would be nice, and i am looking at using the fleece controller on the vgt. And smoke is not my thing...one reason why i want a vgt i can mnake the power and not lay the the smoke...i dont like being like everyone else with a diesel, has anyon e heard anything on the ts mvp...just curious since it is like 350 in price compared to most tuners alot more

on factory mode lv 10 my quadzilla only smokes from about 1500 rpm till about 2000. at 1500 the truck adds fuel and at 2000 the turbo catches it. i here ya on the no smoke thing i would like to just go fast with out having everything in my bed being soot black!!! that's why i have the custom tune to turn back the fuel a little so i can get the turbo to catch up with out smoke... but like i said before if you want all out power turn the fuel up and the timing to about 9 degrees over and bam its like driving a little car!!! i love my v2 i am glad i bought it plus you have a built in turbo guard. it will not shut off your truck for ether a set time or until your egt temp drops down to a chosen point....(you can over ride this and shut it off)....you can pick DE-fuel settings for egt and coolant and rpm and a lot more. you can push your truck hard as you want and the programmer will shut it de-fuel is so you don't have to think about it or watch gauges!! all of them setting can be changed to what ever you want or shut off... this may all be available in the other tuners i just know i love my quad its been great!
