the smarty does good on lower rpm. comp is good all the way up.

 

The Comp is adjustable for low level fueling. It can either poor the fuel in, or only add a lot once the RPM's are up.

 

okay thanks for all the help everyone, so the Smarty has the low end snappiness while the Comp builds up power. One more question hows the Comp do when you dont tap the VP44?

 

Personally I wouldn't waste time on the comp if you don't tap the pump. If you just want alittle added juice id buy the smarty. IF you want to add more power later on done the road like injectors I would go comp. Then you can adjust the power levels up and down on the fly as well.

I have an untapped Comp and the tech line told me untapped it was good for 80 horse. Not sure if the guy knew what he was talking about but that was what he stated. The pump isn't tapped because I have not yanked the tranny yet so it can be built to hold the power.

 

Untapped Comp is same as Edge EZ 60-65hp.

if anyones still reading this thread, how does the smarty do with a 6 speed pick up?

 

It will still add a good amount of power down low but can sometimes make the throttle touchy.
