I posted one thread in the 12v section on accident sorry guys . Any way I know a guy with a couple of turbos , he said he would sell me witch ever one i wanted . but i dont know much about turbos , they both have a A/R of .91 divided ,will they work on my truck , and i am getting ready to put 150 hp sticks in . I know that i have to make an adapter to go from a T-3 to a T-4 flange that is no problem :humm:

if they are box stock BW units then the exhaust discharge is a marmon flange not even an hx40 style, also the compressor discharge will be slip not vband. so basicly you can make it work but it will not be a drop it by any means. We sell that exact same turbo but machined to hx40 turbine discharge and vband compressor dischage so that it drops in other then the needed T3-T4.

I wouldn't recommend an adapter, will throw the alignment of everything off... down pipe, oil drain, IC boots.

But if it is a marmon flange that's easy fix. The make marmon flange to 4" adapter cost like $15, I modified my hx40 downpipe and welded that in, it looks factory. are they straight or 90* compressor discharge?

racepartsolutions.com is where I got mine. I cut the "hx40" flange off but left a little bit of meat on there to slide in the new flange, I had to di-grind the inside down a little bit too... but I left it free, mounted the flange to the turbo and connected the downpipe to the exhaust and when I had the clearence just right I tacked it up on the truck, removed it and welded it up good. Pic below is after all the hacking, ready to be fit.

You are also going to need a 90* elbow, either metal or silicone... I went with silicone, but the existing IC pipe will be too short :pca1:

how much is the guy wanting for the turbos?

01ram2500 04-03-2012 04:29 AM

Thanks for all the info empty wallet , it is very usefull . But I still have a question which one would be best for my truck ? I only pull a 14 ft trailer and every now and then a small goose neck dump trailer . As for the price $650 for each , he gave me my choice between them , their is a guy wanting what ever one I don't want . I see them on eBay for over 700 .

I'd go with the 62 but I think the reason he was asking price is because you could probably just buy a t3 footed s300 that is already machined for hx40 dp, the price differance is barely $100 and would save you alot of time and aggrevation... Without running a t4 manifold it really isn't the best idea... an adapter will throw everything off. when I did mine I went with the pdi t4 manifold to the tune of $560 :s:

Do you know where I can get the turbo with the T-3 foot with HX-40 dp for that type of money . I'm on a budget, not a hole lot to money work with . And thank you again for all your help.
