I ran 6000K HIDs in my 4X4. The light output was awesome!!!, but being high up on the road I got flashed A LOT. And not in the way one would hope for. One of the ballasts got flaky after time and required several on/offs to get both lights to fire, so I swapped them with silverstars and installed the sport headlights. Even thats a dramatic improvement!
They sell HID kits that allow you to keep your high beam, but they are more expensive. I would be VERY leary of the china stuff on eBay personally. I bought a 150 dollar kit with German made ballasts when the whole "fad" started and it still was only good for a few years, so one could only imagine what the 50 dollar kits are like. Get what you pay for!

then you have to buy lights and bulbs. if your not wanting to do that then hid are perfect. i forgot mine are smoked over too and i still get flashed all the time so with no smoke, im sure they would be briter than $#%%!! Yes the ballasts do go bad, ive been lucky with mine now, going on 2 years and still the same ones. my buddy had the same companies on his ford and only lasted 8 months. but these trucks are rattle traps too so thats part of the reason they stop working after a while

mine say digital hid system on them and i cant find the box anymore. i think they costed me about 175 and like i said ive had them for 2 years, no high beams tho but there so bright havent ever wished i had them. if you dont want to order online, your best bet would be local aftermarket car electronics store
