ok i got a good running 1999 with fass 95 platinum 4 inch mbpr amsoil bhaf and im waiting on a heat shield from tad murata trans works great. am I going to blow it up when I put the programmer on it I want the edge juice with att. can get a good deal on the older model from what i hear its almost the same as the cts I want the gauges that come with it and the turbo timer does any one know if the older edge has the 3 cyl high idle on it? I think once it starts getting warm i will start looking at torque converters and valve bodys dont know if i can keep my foot out of it till than.

If you got an Auto and you pushin high horse with a stock tranny then yes kiss that sweet tranny good bye. I have a friend witha 98 12 V hes pushin close to 450 to 500Hp and he DESTROYED his auto tranny, Then we rebuilt it it last 150 Miles then it blew all the clutches up again. If you have a 5 speed you be ok, but auto I stay away from High HP till you buid it up.

No, they edge does not have high idle or 3 cylinder idle. That is a feature that has to be flashed ON from a dealer or a programmer like Smarty. As far as killing your tranny yes the edge J/A will do it quickly with the pump tapped. However if you do not tap the pump wire it will still give you around 65 extra hp which the tranny can tolerated a lot better. Then when you get the tranny upgraded you can tap the pump wire giving you close to 120hp.

My PCM was flashed when the previous owner lived in alaska, if it under 10 degress it will go into high idle if its under -30 then the enviromental disaster happens and she only runs on three cylinders until it hits 100 degree on the thermostat. I was one degree away from it running on three cyinders Im kinda curious to see it run in that mode.

why buy something twice. you can install edge no pump tap aka edge ez when your ready for more power you only have to tap the pump wire plus you have gauges that way. Don't go quad adr it's not what it's supposed to be
