Smarty with drag comp drops 15-60rwhp depending on setup. It helps light a big charger. I stand by the fact nothing more than a drag comp is needed to max a vp.

I would really like to see some dyno charts of runs of comp, smarty, and comp/smarty together to see what the actual effect is, I would venture a guess that any Power that may be lost, is not useable Power, but near redline, and it sounds like the SOP dynos say there would probably be a boost in torque on the bottom, max numbers dont mean as much as people think, you need to look at the usable Power curve. Im curious if adding a comp to a smarty hurts the bottom end in helping the top?

I'll take a look and see what charts I still have. But the smarty dulls down a good section of the upper end. As far as usable power, your right any vp is running out of fuel in the upper end anyway. And with a big charger the smarty restores some driveability back to the picture.

In my case, since i already have the smarty, and i like the low end boost it gives, if I added a comp would it hurt that off idle hit?

If you take a look around I'm pretty sure I've got some post around here and other sites, as well as many other folks with the dyno sheets with and without the smarty.
The smarty only makes 65RWHP max on a vp truck, and most speculate either fuel or timing as the cause for lost power when stacking on a high hp setup. Secondly, the SOP and all out bottom end fueling with the smarty/comp is pretty insane and has no problem spooling a big charger (with supporting mods).
I personally feel you would love the setup, and you will NOT loose that low end and spool up boost that the smarty provides. It will only make it more present!
Is it worth the money? Who knows

Ok, that was something I had always wondered, say numerous claims of smarty hurting the top end when added to a comp, but never anything on if a comp hurt the low end when added to a smarty. My truck could benefit from a better charger at this point more than from added fuel, already frequently see 1200+ when towing. But nice to finally get an answer that it wouldn't hurt the low end, so maybe someday
