Twin turbos or p pump conversion????
Ok heres my problem Im undecided on wether to put twins on my truck or get a p pump conversion kit an put p pump it. I think my vps on the verge of going out. It went out at the first of the year the truck was in cool down mode and just died and wouldnt start until it cooled down. Thats alittle off subject but I need some opinions from everybody if I should invest the money in a twin setup or just do a p pump conversion since my dad has agreed to help me with either or (wish I could do both). Any input would be greatly appreiciated fellows

if the vp is going out then p-pump it... but i thought mine was going out after i put 100hp sticks in it but that was a year and a half ago.... now i just think that the stock vp cant keep up... so it might not be going out... its just having hell keeping up when ur foots in it...... i could be wrong though just what i think... but i was thinking bout doing twins too sounds like fun either way you go...

The P-Pump so far has had mixed results and it is a massive amount of work to put it in and even more work to get it tuned. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. For every first hand account success story, there is another first hand account of converting it back after they never could get it to run right.
A set of twins, never fail. They always improve performance as promised.

keep the vp and do compounds. a so vp is good to right about 700 hp so either your supply pump is not keeping up with the fueling needs, a fuel filter is plugged, or maybe your programmer is going out. I miss my compounds and all the goodies but will have a fummins soon. CA smog killed my fun

you need a edge comp box and the truck will really come alive.

I would also go with a compound setup. Ive personally done conversions on both VE&VP trucks and in all reality your truck will be down for a week or more depending on your troubleshooting capabilities because there will be bugs you have to work out. For the ease of power and the amount of saved time i would go compounds over a p-pump. just my .02

Thanks for all the info guys it really helps. I guess Im just goin to stick with getting a new vp and then add the twins, I always wanted twins. An as for the programmer going out how would I be able to tell? At times when the trucks in higher rpms it feels like it has a shuddered to it like its running out of fuel but the airdog keeps 15psi to it at all times. Could this be caused by the programmer goin out or could it be the vp or maybe possibly the apps??
