I bought my 01 5.9 about 3 mnths ago. I need help as what to,where to look to see if my truck has a chip or some kinda beefed up electronics on it? it has a fass 150 on it and guages has a boost,egt ,and tran temp guage on the rail.any pointers would be help,thanks peeps!

 

some chips like the powermax tap into one of the wires on the vp. you can pull the cover off and there is 2 little black wires and if there is another wire tapped into it you got a chip or had a chip

 

Does it smoke?

Most people install the chip on top of the distribution box in the engine bay. Or else you could check where the map sensor is. Driver side under the intake manifold at the very back of the manifold is the Map sensor. The Air Intake sensor is around there too. If the vehicle wiring harness plugs right into the map sensor you don't If it has a second harness between the vehicle connector and the Map sensor you do.
