The only thing I can think of is how the pump is designed and how it functions. Since the pump is electronically controlled

Seems like someone tried to make an aftermarket set but it did not run correctly since the pump is electronically controlled.

with the pump electronically controlled it wouldn't run right. all of the injection is determined by the computer so i'd assume lot of mods to the computer would need to be made for them to work. makes sense on a mechanical pump but not on electronic

I've had one apart, there pretty neat inside, not as much in there as I thought there would be, pretty simple pump really.

It seemed a little light duty for what we ask of it, cant believe they stay together as long as they do....sometimes.

Some folks made them and it didn't work out at all. Someone once said that the monsters utilized another Dv set. In my opinion the vp is internally limited to a reliable 600rwhp

Your talking about building your own hot rod pump? It's not possible on the stock vp computer... Just p pump the thing and be done with it, like somebody already said it isn't like your going to do something that hasn't already been done. Besides a smoked vp44 still carries value in the form of a $400 core charge, and if money is no object why not p pump?
