Angry VP44's And Lift Pumps

So the time has come.....This morning while driving to work my truck had 0 power I could floor it and it would SLOWLY reach 1700 RPM and wouldnt go any higher. I have a check engine light on so when my friend gets off work later tonight hes going to come scan it for me. Im pretty much allready prepared for the good ole death code to show up.

My questions are for those who are running after market lift pumps and vp44's. How have your experiences been with the brand your running and what psi are you running while at idle and WOT. Im not really looking to buy a Fass system I know alot of people run them and like them but a friend of mine has gone through 3 in the past year so I just kinda have a bad view of them. The VP44 im looking at now is industrial injections and thinking of going with a walbro lp and big line kit.

I feel for ya, still waiting on my VP. Get with Lukesdiesel on here he had the best deal I could find for a VP. I run a performer series fuel system and like it.

well the main reason im looking at industrial is because I can get them for a discounted price I just dont wanna buy something then end up wishing I got something else.

Thats what he sells. I dont know your discount but for a standard output IP from II he couldnt be beat.

VP44's are deffinatley not the place to go with just the cheapest vendor. After the sale support is imperrative with them since there is so much potential for needing it. Personally I got mine through the vendor on the site here (Blue Chip Diesel) and I couldn't have asked for better support. He did backflips trying to make things work for me and also has the best warranty I could find from anyplace out there.

In my case I have been through several different lift pump options through the years and haven't been satisfied with any of them until now. I installed a belt drive LP a few months back and this thing is great. It raises fule pressure as you increase RPM's so you only have to have the extra pressure when you need it. I have mine set at 12psi idle and it goes up to 17psi at wide open throttle. Best part is that its all mechanical, nothin to go wrong except maybe break a belt that takes 5 minutes to replace and it's a heavy duty belt so I don't seeing it being any more of an issue then your serpantine belt is.

well my vendor for industrial injection are my best friends so I get it at cost and know that I will be taken care of. But like I said I just want to see what other people are running and happy with. I will definatly have to look into a belt driven lift pump, I have heard of them but it didnt even cross my mind. The lift pump I have now is a fairly new (few months old) campaign pump but I figured this would be a good time to go ahead and upgrade.

Who did you get your lp through. I know I have seen them on a vendors web site before but cant find it now.

Talk to DangerousDuramax and he can put you in touch with MikeL. He's a member here but not real active right now. He is the sole vendor for these pumps but they have been tested and developed over years now with some of the biggest Dodge names out there. They are called the MITUSA Pump, acronym for Made In The USA. It is the updated version of what used to be called the RASP.

I can help you get one but they are pricey and way overkill for a daily driver. They are really designed for a full blown racer or street truck that is fueling very heavy. The sweet thing about them is that it will increase the pressure with RPM and you can regulate how high it goes.

You can order them with one of two pulley set ups to control how radical the fuel supply is.

The daily driver set up is a pulley on the pump that is twice the size as the pulley on the crank mount. This reduces the flow of the pump to what we normal folks would ever need for supply.

The second option is with both pulleys the same size that put's the pump at full flow. This is for the competion only crowd that need gallons of fuel per minute moving through the injectors.
