My phatshaft 62/80 let go last night i'll try and get some pics... theres a hole behing the seal on the front side i dont know if it supposed to be there or not...it is on the housing right above the oil return hole its half moon shaped on the botttom not sure what it is anyways i have massive amounts of play in it and no boost... what do i do???

this is of the turbo after i took off compressor wheel and seal... is it supposed to have that hole???

Im pretty sure that hole is NOT supposed to be there, I've never played with a phaft shaft but I've seen them apart before and I don't recall that hole being there

 

... i didn't think so... its a fairly smooth break thats the only reason i was curious..

 

How many miles on it?

 

maybe 40,000 at the very most

 

Have you contacted the manufacturer about your warranty? Is it still under warranty?

 

no... i've never had any luck with any warranties...

 

How much boost was it making when it let go?
