In Tank Fuel Module
Ok, so after being stranded a couple times (out of fuel, gauge reading 1/4 tank) i am going to swap out fuel module in tank. The Vulcan performance Modified Liberty Module has been recommened but, a friend of mine has the factory replacement module he bought and was unable to return and has never been used. This module has the in-tank pump in it. What do i need to do to make this work how it should. I have an airdog 100 Pump. I'm guessing i need the Vulcan Draw Straw V but what other mods do i need to make to it so the in tank pump isnt fighting me? Simple, safe way to disconnect other than the obvious and removing it?
so i need the Vulcan Draw Straw V with the 3/8" fitting to match my fuel line from the air dog or can i disconnect the in tank pump on the module and use the Vulcan Draw Straw I? i just need the module for the float to correct my guage. it is getting worse, i have 320 miles and it read 3/4 tank. Feel like im riding my old harley with no fuel gauge at all and stretching out my mileage. Kinda of sucks i have the HUD with my Miles to empty and i cant use it.
Make sure that when you put the Drawstraw in, to put the tank on a set of sawhorses to help alleviate the 1/4 tank issues.
Put the tank on the sawhorses where the tank straps are. The tank is probably sagging near where the intake is.

Pulling the box will leave the fuel tank in its natural resting position. I'll bet you they say to use the DSV. I have one, and its amazing. Using the DS2, depth matters. DSV does not as the fuel module spring hold the suction point down.
If you already have a pump in your tank you can modify that basket VERY EASILY, and make a custom draw tube like I did... all you need to do is remove the old pump and run 3/8th line down to the inlet on the screen. I used some extra 1/2" line I had leftover from my Raptor pump, tweaked it a bit and got it to work, but the fittings on both ends of that basket are made for 3/8" line... heres a picture of how I did mine........
ahhh, 10hrs too late, ordered the Draw Straw V this morning. Thats ok though, i talked to the guy at vulcan and he told me how to reroute my airdog return line to the vent on the pickup.
