would it be cheaper to rebuild a 47re with new guts and performance valve body or save and buy a all new trans.

 

well.....are you wanting a new BUILT trans or a factory reman trans, i know when i did the numbers on a 48RE in a 2003, it came out the same price, wether i built it or bought it.....would of saved me the labor of tearing it down and putting it back together to just buy it.....so yes......plan on a good converter too, so theres 1100-1500......

 

x2 It would be cheaper to buy the parts and install new guts. No need to get the whole enchilada if your not planning on making insane power, and it costs alot of money for one of those too.

if i was going full billet, then yes i would buy a new tranny cause it costs the same wether you buy the parts and put them in or you have it sent to you complete.........if not, do it yourself......clutch packs, valvebody and converter aint that bad.....
