crazycooter,
I am not sure how much of a difference you will notice changing the torque settings, since you have a 5 speed. I think it is geared more towards the trucks that have torque management. You can play around with the timing for sure. A good person to try and contact is Scott@Alligator, he has a manual tranny and has been playing around with Smarty. He might have some base settings to start with, from what I have gathered it is a try this and then try that type of stuff because each truck is different.

if you drive sensibly, all the settings are fairly economical. i have mine set at 8 and factory settings for torque, timing and duration and my last fill was 16.1mpg. i've got a set of 125s coming, so we'll see what that does. i don't smoke that bad now, only when i chug and floor it, but it cleans right up thanks the 351ve. the soot used to cover the back of the box, now it only covers the end of the tip.

i just run mine on kill. set on 9, duration 5, TQM 6, timming defult. i have a 6 speed runs really well throttle response it killer, and smoke is 100% managable. but when i want i can throw quite a bit. dont know what my EGTs are as the gauges are still sitting in the box...to freakin hot here to put them in. but i stay out of it so there shouldt be anything to worry about it for now. cant wait for the quad to come in
