There is no comparison. One does wonders and the other makes you wonder.

exactly what he said. super chip dirty tune and only about 65 hp on average. smarty stack able and upgradeable with up to 150 hp or more with hotter custom tunes. i dont recommend a superchip to anyone here in the shop.

150hp increase from the Smarty alone? That would be one heck of a custom tune.

The Smarty is stackable with all external fuelling chips as the Smarty has timing or no timing settings. The Smarty also has sub settings that you can change to suit your fuelibg requirments. To my knowledge, the Pooperchip has a few setting that are nonadjustable. You get what they give you, no other options.

65-75hp is all you will see with the Smarty. I would look at an Edge Comp.

I know you only asked about the 2 but inmho a edge comp box is a better choice the smarty isn't cheap even used. superchip is best when free

I am looking for dependability and economy more so than simply big pony's I need to be able to more or less customize my fueling options as I think my pcm has been defueled in the past to meet emmission requirements for an underground mining atmosphere.

I cannot take off from a stop light and drop that big a$$ cloud of black smoke even after changing lift pump, vp and injectors.

I was hoping the superchip was a little better than you guys have rated it as it is half the price of a smarty. Also, can the smarty monitor engine parameters in real time?

The Smarty can not monitor parameters. It can programm the ECU, and read/delete codes.
The Smarty has a fuel economy setting, and I find it works really well. At first I thought it was too aggressive to be a effective fuel economy setting, but multiple road trips have proven it works very, very well.
