Default Stacks or pipe out the back

I was wondering what would be louder, stacks or my pipe out the back. All the trucks that I hear with stacks are not very loud. Doesn't matter if it has 5 inch stacks or 8 inch stacks I still think my 4 inch exhaust pipe out the back it louder. Any help would be nice. Thanks

only reason a stack "seems" quieter is because the sound is aimed up not directly towards you like a normal exhaust. After putting the stack on my 95, I would never have a stack on a DD

And does anybody know where I can get a front in replacement grille guard for my 2001 dodge truck.

When sound goes vertical it is quieter. When sound goes horizontal it is louder. Doesn't matter the size of the pipe.

Having the tip of the exhaust extend past the rocker panel of the bed will help. Get the sound out from under the body, essentially.

In my experience, stacks are only quieter if you put them at least a foot above the cab. My buddies 06 had a straightpipe on it and after we put stacks on it the cab was pretty noisey
