Thinking of adding an aux fan. Push or Pull?

well i was lookin at the back of the radiator this weekend in the little bit of free time i had and the radiator actually looks some what new. All of the fins are straight, and there is no stuff packed into it. I'm gonna replace the stat this week to see what it does. Whats the best way to flush the system? Thought about doin that to. instead of waiting on the temp to warm up enough to open the stat, couldn't i just keep the stat out while i flush it?

Cool it
Go easy on the Green stuff. Engines run cooler on just water. If pulling hard in the summer rock nothing but distilled water, also there are high flow T-stats available. i have about a 4:1 of water to coolant and I pull a Moomba hard during the summer and I have not had an over heating issue yet.

Ture. A good boil out of the radiator will be huge. Those water wetters dont do a thing and are a waste of money. I tried them in my motorcycles with no change, went to straight water(distilled) and they run cooler than before. Even at my four to one there is still enough to prevent freeze, but I aint telling you what to do, just works for me in washington.

alright i finally got around to changing the stat, had a busy weekend and also dealing with an apps problem. when driving the truck warmed up a lot faster, and watchin my pulse monitor i would climb to 204* it would say 0 (idk y) then just like that drop down to about 186*. my radiator looks pretty new, think i need a flush? or any other ideas, because i know it should not act like it is now.

did my flush tonight, actually ran it a little longer than i shoulda. then let the truck sit for bout two hours after rinsen as much as i could with the hose. blew everything out, let it sit for two hours. filled it up with prestone 50/50 extended life. started and ran truck with the cap off till the stat opened. filled it as much as i could then, closed the lid and let it idle for ten -fifteen minutes. then i ran her around and still the same overheating stuff. wonderin if i didn't get a bad stat. its like once i get to 205* maybe 210* it opens up and just cools her right down without an issue. try to take back my stat tomorrow and get another one. gonna run a 180* stat and see how we go.
