Default Where to start?!?

So i've been building an interest in creating a pulling truck. obviously cant afford to dive off the deep end right away and get everything. I know the basics and am a John Deere technician. I've got a 99 2500 with a cummins and I've got a hypertech programmer that came with the truck. It's nice but like everyone else, I want a lil more So my question is where do I start? I want to get a ram air intake (suggestions?), an air dog system, and maybe beef up the exhaust. its straight piped with 4 inch i think??? But i guess i just dont know where to start or what to go with. open for any ideas or suggestions.

well first things first you gotta keep the VP44 happy, so i would say air dog and a fuel pressure gauge to keep an eye on it. as far as a programmer goes there are many more out there to give you more power like the Quadzilla Adrenaline or edge juice with attitude or the edge comp and a few others. im not sure what guys run in their pullin trucks so i cant help you there. good luck with your build!

i see alota pullers run the edge juice with attitude stacked on a smarty. if you are in manual tranny then id beef the clutch sometime along the way fuel systems most i see is airdog but i see some FASS fuel pumps may wanna check into that. if your doin exhuast the less back press the better so go big or go home IMO good luck!

if your truely gettin serious into pullin there's some things you NEED to keep in mind when doin this with a VP truck

first know that our trucks are limited in the sense that its hard to pull alot of rpms out of them..

the hot ticket ive seen is runnin the bluechip redline box along with some stiffer valve springs and a good sfi approved dampner...

tranny wise i would jump right into a good dual disk and upgrade the input shaft at the same time..

the t-case's are more than strong enough so no worry's there but i would atleast put a good locker in the rear along with some traction bars

just my .02 i know im missing out on a lot but its a good start
