Default EGT still high...

So the question is.... Looking at my signature, why can I still hit 1500 degrees easily? I figured this situation would be taken care of with the addition of compounds. I guess not. I suppose I could get more psi than 55 out of my twins by wastegate adjustment, but I can already clear up the fuel im delivering, so the addition of more air is just unneeded hot air...

Also, for all you that have compounds. I noticed a good bit of oil in the boost tube from the outlet of the big turbo going to the inlet of the small turbo. Normal? Thanks guys. Hope everyone is doing well.

oil not normal mine was clean when removed. You don't have enough injector for the amount of air your moving. I had some size turbos on mine and with my 240's I didn't get over 1400 unless drag racing. I have that set of injectors less and they made 601 to the rear wheels.

Ok. I haven't been running it lately for oil return reasons, I've just been driving my wrangler. The only reason I can think that there would be oil in the tube then is because of the oil return problems I'm having and that's all listed in another post. Oil filter is long and is putting pressure on, and kinking the rubber part of the oil return. It's not completely closed off or anything but it's half way kinked. Maybe that's causing a backup of oil and it's not draining well causing it to go out the boost side??

Your oil filter would kink your TOP turbo oil drain line and have no affect on the big turbo drain in the rear of the block. if your drains are tied together, theres your problem.

The drains are tied together, that's how the kit comes. It comes with a t fitting to tie em together. I didn't think the oil flow would be significant enough to completely fill that drain. Apparently it is. I ordered a remote oil filter kit to move the filter for more room for the drain

DPS twins I assume? if so, that is the EGT issue. the 62/12 isnt terribly efficient on the exhaust side and runs a bit hot. instead of doing a remote filter, get drain lines to go to the correct ports in the block and fix the issue correctly. Then WHEN you sell them (and you WILL) they wont have the same issue for the new owner.

To be honest i don't know the brand. Pretty sure they're dps. D-tech primary. I got em used off a guy with only 800 miles on em. I gave him my super b special and a grand for em. He got them off alligator performance in December 2010. How do you tap the back block drain port/freeze plug. I've heard just take a self tap screw or something and stick it in there and wiggle it out. I just don't know what it looks like under that plug, are there threads or what?

once you pop the freeze plug it's just cast block and a drain line goes right in like the factor drain line all you need is a punch and a hammer they come right out.

Yup. then just use a flex drain and straight block fitting from a 3rd gen and some 7/8 hose and viola!

While you're at it, pull the WG cover off the 62 and inspect the gate assembly. some of the Dtechs had issues with the gates coming apart or warping causing spool-up & EGT issues.

I have yet to break 1300*F with my setup, even with the Comp on 5x5. On a normal day driving around it rarely reaches 1050*F. I cruise down the road at 105km/h (65ish MPH), 8-10PSI boost, and 600-650 EGT.
