I Just Bought BD 150 horse injector nozzles
Hey yall guys I just bought BD 150 horse injector nozzles yesterday and i was wondering how much these things smoke and how much HP am i going to get out of them.. My mods in my 98.5 are... superchip flashpaq,Airdog 100,AFE stage 2 intake,4in turbo back to 8in Miter stack, and gauges. Oh and i will be installing them myself also how hard is it going to be? Ive been reading other threads and guys are saying it takes the bout 1 in a half hours to do them so IDK. Oh and what are my EGT's Going to look like?
Thanks.
Thanks.

well good general rule anything over 100hp gets pretty smokey at times. youll know that they are in there for sure but its like any other mods, they are tested to gain those numbers by theirselves. and when you add them to other mods they dont gain quite as much. 150's are gonna role some coal on a stock turbo and depending on your foot the egt's could get out of control quick. and 1.5 hours to change if you have never done it before give yourself about 2.5 just to take your time and do it right. and before you start make sure you have a 3/4 stubby wrench your gonna have to have one on 5 and you cant get to 6 with out one.

oh you didnt buy whole injectors just the nozzel. you cant change them unless you got a pop tester to set the pop off pressures. youll have to take them to a shop that can set them for you. if they arent set right the truck will run like crap. it should make ok power. but you cant make power without air. just a lot of smoke and egts. and im not a fan of superchip tunes.. if i were you and your looking to make some big hp, i would sell it and get me a edge or quadzilla box for it.

You can change them yourself, but it is NOT recommended. Taking them to a diesel shop is the BEST thing to do. When I did it, I was only charged $22 for the nozzle replacement and setting the pop pressure.
The 150's and the Superchip will be an OK combo. It will get hot when you stay in the throttle, I'm betting you'll get close to 1500* if your not careful.

If they are indeed Jammers, not doubting Luke at all, they aren't the best quality. More towards the basement of quality. I've never run a set, but read many threads about guys pulling them out and installing a mid to good quality nozzle, and the results have been amazing. Less smoke at idle, run cooler, less smoke at WOT (more fuel is actually burning), and better MPG.

they are not that bad of an injector. i ran 2 different sets in my truck and bothe worked great. the one that everyone say are less quality were what was left over when edge bought out the injector line from whatever the company was they bought. the ones that edge had produced were actually pretty good imho. they arent II or scheid by any means but great for the money. and a 150 might haze slightly but it wont be much at idle. and usually once you step over the 100hp mark on injectors fuel mileage starts to go down. and if you dont have the injectors set by someone that has the pop tester and get them all exactly the same it will have a horrible idle and a really choppy rev up. basically it will beat the engine apart it will be so rough. not to count there is a slight possiblity it could damage your injection pump. or at the least make it throw codes for fueling calibration failures. and BD has been building these things for some years now if they were junk i think they would have quit making them cause no one would buy them. not that im doubting luke on this but BD was building these way before edge released theirs. same 8 hole design that several builders use. some just better quality. you should like them. just watch the egts. get a bigger turbo for them so you dont melt a piston.
