Default Don't know what air filter get...

Hey, I am wanting to get an aftermarket airfilter for my truck but o don't know what to get... I'm leaning towards k&n because that seems to be most popular but I was just wondering if there's anything else out there that I should consider...

Do away with your factory airbox and put a cone type filter straight on your flex hose going to turbo i spent 30.00 and im happier with it you put a k&n filter in your factory air box like i did at first your wasting your money.

Just putting a "cone" on the end of an intake hose is not going to be any better than the factory setup. If you want noticeable performance and mileage gains spend the money and get a complete cold air intake kit. If you want just a filter then K&N is a good brand, good warranty, and cleanable/reusable setup. IMO

OP,

I have a Big Honkin Air Filter (BHAF) and it serves me very good. I think that you will find that it is personal perference. I myself do not think K&N is a good choice for our trucks. After I purchased my truck used, I got a BHAF. When I pulled the stock box off, there was a K&N drop in filter sitting there. I looked at my turbo and it was nasty. The previous owner used way too much oil and that poor HY sucked every bit of the oil out of the filter. Needless to say, got it cleaned as much as possible and inspected it after I had been running the BHAF and it was still clean. That is just my thoughts with the K&N.

Could you give me a web site or somtin for the bhaf so I could check it out? That would be great thanks. And also when your talking of the k&n cold air intake, is that just the setup with the heat deflector on the back side or is there some other part?
