Just go buy an Edge Comp or Adrenaline and be done with it.

Ive been running the PM3 Comp on my 2001 using the Smarty for timing. Has Mark compared the PM3 Comp+Smarty numbers with the numbers from this New box?

Would like to know if the New box will net me more HP over my current set-up.
If Mark needs to test this new box on a Modded pull truck I would be happy to try it and give real world feedback.

Thanks,
Josh

Yes actually we have. To be honest, the numbers are very similar to the PM3 COMP stacked with a smarty. There was some differences, but in my personal opinion, since youve already got both, i would stay with that. no sense in spending more money. This would be for someone who either wants a simple plug and play in less then 5 minutes(Powershot is only one connection) or to stack the powershot with a fuelign box they already have. The PM5 basically eliminates the need to buy multiple boxes in order to get max timing and fuel from a VP44.

Also, both boxes are being ran on the street in the form of my 99 modded truck and my 99 stocker. Mark is also running the setup in his truck which is modded more than mine so i think we've got the test trucks that we need for now, unless you have a stock 01, then pm me. until we can get the stock 01 tuning confirmed, we cant run it on a modded one. Ill writer your name down to pm if we get to that point.

Any pricing? or pictures of the final product/screen shots?

Any MPG gain data for daily driver situations?

from what i get from reading all of the posts there will be no need to stack with this pm5 because it takes timing as far as you can take it? at least thats what i got out of the explanation.

depends on which box you want; with the pm5, you get all three, max timing, fuel and boost fooling. now if you want to just get the powershot, it is capable of being stacked with almsot any fueling and boost fooling box out there including the comp box.

yes you are correct, stacking it with say a smarty does little but it risky, my truck saw minimal gains. theres only so far that vp44 can adjust timing wise before you get the dreadd shuttering/surging effect and power loss

no final word on pricing just yet. i suspect(and do not hold me to this by any means what soever as i have nothing to do with prices) that the powershot will be around the 200-300 dollar mark in order to compete with the edge ez, as for the pm5, i have no clue yet.

as for pictures, no, well ive got some but Ive been told not to post them until we know we are satisfied with the layout and such

as for MPG gain, yes, I saw a good size MPG gain, read a couple of my early posts in this thread, i listed them there. It was roughly 2-3mpg depending on driving conditions, there were several occasions where i saw a better MPG gain. off top of my head, i cant recall them and Ive not done a fuel mpg run in awhile with it, been working mainly on the dyno fine tuning stuff, Ill dig out my notes and post it, hang on

***from earlier posting***
" I saw a 3.6 mpg increase, hand calulated, went from 16.2 to 19.8 on my stock 99, my modded 99 showed just a 2.4mpg, went from 15.4 to 17.8, both trucks ran same roads and miles, mix of city and highway driving. Both are personal bests with both trucks haviing a box. Now this was not with the box all the way up by any means, I did not record mpg with the higher settings, at least not yet."
