changing trans fluid this weekend
hello again,
I was wondering If I should drive the truck around warmup the trans fluid before i replace the pan, fluid and filter? Or I should just park it overnight then replace the pan, fluid and filter following morning. Also i'm replacing the pan, fluid and filter not flushing the system, so i don't know if the fluid is +4 synthetic or not. I bought 10quarts of valvoline +4 synthetic should I worry maybe different brand of fluid??????

Not really necessary to heat up the oil prior to draining the trans. Your going to get a little red anyway. LOL. Park the truck in neutral with the e brake on the nite before.
ATF+4 which is synthetic is the recommended fluid. Caution, correct fluid level is critical on these trans. Check it in nuetral after running it thru the gears. Dr,R,Dr,R,Dr, N= check.
You get the idea, right?
BTW, are you changing trans pan to one with more capacity?
