Default aftermarket intakes, worth it or not

Ive been seeing more and more aftermarket intake manifolds for the 24vs, my question is do they truly work as well as they claim? anyone have any dyno numbers before and after to verify?

65hp, doubt it. Lower egts? I believe it! 1,5, and 6 get poor air flow. If you were to put a IAT in the intake horn and compare it to the IAT near #6, I bet you would see a 20 degree difference between the two. Temperature in the horn being cooler of course. If some one on here with a tunnel ram could watch their IAT and we could compare it to others we would have an idea of how much more air is getting back there.

They dont work well on the 2nd gens for some reason. They will drop some egts but not much. They work very well on the 3rd gens. This works well $$$Performance Diesel Warehouse - Products for Dodge, Ford, and Chevy Duramax.

Okay but since numbers 1, 5,6 are getting more air, in theory power oughta go up slightly I would think

Only if there isn't enough air to completely burn the fuel being injected.
