For the most part you can run any tune you want. The wire tap is not used on lvl 3 or less so all you get is timing. I usually run mine on 2 or 3 most of the time with the 3000 tune. Though I am thinking of sending my box in to get the 4k board. I just had mine replaced under warranty right before those came out so the update for mine is free
