Default Edge Comp questions

I replaced my VP and put in a Raptor 100, with 18PSI. I can change the setting on my box, and it seems nothing changes. The lights are working, I installed everything the same, even checked Edges directions and everything seems fine. Can I troubleshoot something, somehow? Thinking I might have to have it updated or something.

Pull the Comp and the wiring harness. Pull it now, pull it fast, just pull it and send it in. They will troubleshoot it and update it for free and send it back to you.

I had this same problem and fought it for a few years. Sent the box in and it always tested good so I was stumped. Finally in desperation I stripped everything out and sent it in. The wiring harness was bad. My lazyness cost me a few good years of fun.

The box still worked but didn't give me near the power increase it should have been givin.

Do that or make sure you tapped the correct wire on the VP44.

If you do send the unit away, get a stealth plate in the meantime, or even get one now. There is no confusion of which wire to tap, no wires are exposed to the elements, and I think it is a much better connection to the pump.

The $99 covers shipping back to you, and it's their free for having a look at it. Repairs will be free.
A stealth plate is a replacement cover for a VP44 that allows the pump to be tapped internally. Therefore there is no confusion of which wire to tap, and doesn't puncture the wires insulation. Here is something I posted a while ago,

Does the $99 include upgrading it to a Drag Comp?

They looked up my serial#, and the total with replacement of anything (if fried), as well as updates was a total of $99. I have an older box, don't know if that makes a diff. Thats a deal, he told me it's usually levels 3,4,5, that has issues. He told me to go run it, shift on the roll, hammer down, and I should be able to feel something. If I can't ship it!

On the wiring harness, just a few inches from where it plugs into the back of the comp box you will see a small barrel shaped electronic gizmo. Check to see that it has a wire connected both going in and out of the ends of it. It's common for that wire to break off of that thing after years of moving things around.

take a volt meter and check the grey wire where it plugs into the comp box for voltage should have 12 volts with the ignition key in the on position this is the wire that taps the vp-44 pump
