Default Chip It or Program It. Safe with a Stock Tranny?

I have a '01 Cummins 24v. I want to either chip it or program it. I am looking to either go with the Edge Juice W/ Attitude or the Smarty. I have heard that its not such a smart thing to do if the truck still has the stock transmission, which mine does. So any help would be great thanks.

If you keep the settings low you wont kill the tranny right off the bat. Good thing about the edge is the gauges which you need if you dont have. Also you may wont to look into a new lift pump such as fass or air dog before you do anything else. At least get a fuel pressure gauge.

i recently had to replace the lift pump. Just had an aftermarket one put in. wasn't a FASS or Air Dog set up. I was thinking about getting one of the dumby lights to install instead of spending over $200 for a F.P Gauge. How reliable is the light over the gauge? Is it worth getting? I know if i go with the Edge it will come with the Monitor and give me the Gauge readings. So i feel it would be waste of money to get the $200 Fuel Pressure Gauge then turn around the buy the Edge.

with my 99 I had the adrenaline with pulse
loved it
the thing with the dummy lights is when it comes on the pump is toast
fuel gauge you can keep an eye on it and replace it before it takes out your vp

I don't want to change the subject of this thread, but what is the advantage of the CTS?
