Grid Heater delete

if you get a high ram intake is it ok to not get a grid heater delete piece and just leave the grid heater in?

"Diesel respond extremly well to increases in the density of the intake charge, so when you increase the mass flow through the engine, you increase power"

If you improve airflow with wide gentle turns(high ram intake) and bends lower than 10°degree you increase power.
A grid heater acts restrictive. I also read about claims to gain 0.5 psi boost pressure with the delete- but I don't know about that.

But I know for sure that a better, smoother intake with gentle bends increases power.

Before you delete the grid heater try out the difference- you can't go wrong!
Just compare the stock and banks picture of the intake. Can you see the difference? The banks head widens like a cobra and provides smooth turns.

Save your money on the Banks high ram. On a second gen 24V - its mainly a decoration. Makes a much bigger difference on a third gen Cummins.

I would recommend one of these to anyone. I noticed there was more power, the turbo spooled faster, and there was defiantly less smoke. I am sure there the temp dropped, but I was having some problems my pyro at the time so I don't have anything to compair it to.:tu:

There is zero HP gained from deleting the grid heaters. We have done back to back dyno runs with and without them and seeen no difference in HP/Tq.

Be careful of what intake horns you buy also as there are some out there that will cost you power and some that will only lighten your wallet and are more of a ornamental item.
