Default Time for a turbo upgrade...

Hey guys! Ok, so its time for a turbo upgrade... Or at least i think. My upgrades are in my signature, with those, and my chip on lvl 5, at full throttle highway speeds im starting to get a "choking" feeling almost like its not getting the boost it needs. Also, egt's are gettin to 1350 or so so... Does that sound accurate to everyone as to the reason that i'm getting that choking feeling? Also, right around 60-70 mph range and on moderate throttle, i get a shimmy almost like an unbalanced tire, but its only when im on the throttle. Let off the throttle a little and it goes away, or just keep on it and it clears up eventually. Kinda feels like a bouncing rear end... Everything's tight and secure and all the u joints were checked and lubed. No prob there. This started right after the new trans was put in. It doesnt feel like a trans problem, rather, i can put the power to the ground now and im noticing it. So anyway, yeah let me know what you guys think would be a good turbo for me. I was thinking the ATS aroura 3000 or 4000, i dont have head studs... Or maybe the Super B... Suggestions on good turbos for under $1500 or so? Thanks!!!

For the choking feeling, do you have your EGT limiter set to 1350 on your Edge? I know I get that feeling when the Edge pulls out of fuel due to EGT's. I need more air too.

I noticed you sig doesn't say weather your truck is a auto or stick, knowing that will help now, and in the future. If you do have the auto, a HX35 upgrade would be a cost effective way to go. If it is a stick, and you already have the HX35, I have heard good things about the Super B Special.

You would be amazed at what changing over to a better set of injectors will do for smoke reduction and power increase. But a superb special would be a good way to go. I ran a set of 100 jammers and a set of 110 ddps' and made 44hp more to the rear wheels with the ddp's egts went down and was way easier to drive.

Ok thanks guys. Maybe ill look into the Super B special then, im hearing alot of good things. As far as the EDGE EGT limiter RAWilliams, that completely slipped my mind... Ill have to check that. I guess the best thing to do tho is just get the turbo to bring the EGT's down to fix that problem for good. And yeah it is an auto. I had a trans built with a billet single converter and pretty much the suncoast upgrade kit, red clutches, threw a locker in it too. Seems to be holding up good so far, almost to the 500 mile break-in. I guess nobody has any idea what that shimmy would be about huh?

How much of an upgrade would it be buying the hx35 for this pig? Does anyone know what hp is supported with the hx35? It would be nice to be able to spend $300 and be done with it for a while... But if its not much of an upgrade going with the hx35 for the auto, then forget it. I just need to drop my egt's and give it the air its starving for...

not even worth the money or time. you just have too much fuel for a stock turbo be it a hy or hx 35
