Default Got a power puck for x-mas...

As the title says I just got a power puck for x-mas. I was wondering with my truck, what kind of power should I really expect? I've seen stuff saying 50hp/150tq, 30hp/100tq, what is it really supposed to be? Also it says programable on it, how does that work? Thanks and merry christmas!

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Also I haven't installed it. Anyone know of links with pics or have pics so I know where to plug it in? Thanks.

Power output varies depending if your running other mods and sea level. Both connections will be on the drivers side, under #3 and #4 injector lines.

Sweet I'm excited! The one I got is used. Do you think I'd have to worry about someone else having programmed it for their truck and having it work shitty on mine? I don't even know what the programming with these intails I just thought that would be my only concern.

They aren't like a programmer, so it'll work on yours just fine unless the person it came from got rid of it because it's faulty.

So I plugged it into the truck this morning. The truck would start and run like **** for about 3 seconds and then shut off. Couldn't get it to go. I just took it off so I could drive and I noticed the check engine light is on. Should I worry about the check engine light? Also am I supposed to do anything else when installing this? Or is it just plug in and go?

Cycle the key back and forth 3 times (but don't turn the engine over). On the third cycle, leave the key on and read the codes that flash in the odometer window. Be fast and right them down.

I've tried that and can't get them to show up. I'll have to use a code reader. Could it be something else that's bad that's not allowing the puck to work or does it sound more like I just got ripped off and bought a bad one?

You may have bought a bad one.

Key trick only works on 2000 or 2001 trucks and newer. I can never remember which year, but i know it doesn't work on the '99s. Time to get a scanner to check for codes.
I have a power puck, and it gives a little extra seat of the pants feel but nothing crazy by any means. Works okay, little extra mileage too.

you will notice a difference, but its not like even 20HP gain on a gasser. its a nice edition if you get your truck working
