the 8.3L is only about 400-500 lbs. heavier and it makes 400 HP and 1500 TQ. in stock form and is built alot heavier duty than a b-series.

I'm no expert but I think you're wrong on the 8.3 having a Jake. You can get one with an exhaust brake, but if I remember
correctly you have to go bigger than the 8.3 for a Jake motor.

A little more research I found out the L10 is the smallest Cummins motor made with a true compression brake.

well also i found on you tube a 1995 cummind with a pac brake
how much does a L10 weigh and is that a semi motor?

Not sure how much an L10 weighs but it is a semi engine although a small one.

I thought you said you were talkin to some one that was going to make a pac brake for the 5.9L

No. I sent an email to PacBrake asking about rumors that they were developing a compression brake for the 5.9, dude said he could neither confirm or deny. Apparently there was some display at SEMA this year they had that got a lot of people talkin.

Oh I understand now it would be cool if they did make one but I can see it havin a big price tag

I believe you are right, the L10 is the smallest with an engine brake. And its a perty good size engine... i like to shoehorn big engines into small packages, but even ill say a L10 is unfeasible for a pickup.
