Default FASS DDRP?

Hey guys so I was at the local Dodge stealer yesterday cause a guy I know is now the service manager and before that was a dodge tech for 15yrs so I kinda trust him a little bit. He was "turning on" the high idle/3 cyl warmup for me and was talking to him about the FASS and Airdogs and he told me that they are selling the FASS DDRP's to replace the stock LP's. They are selling them here for $380.00. The thing that has me worried is that he said they are running about 32psi steady. I asked if that wasnt too high for the VP he said no. And of course budget it key right now for me so was going to use this insead of going with say a FASS 150 or the Airdog 150. So my ?'s are.....

1) Is the FASS DDRP's Any good for a direct OEM replacment.
2) Can they hold up with mods (dont have any right now but future) ie programmers, Injectors, turbo, all not "major" mods just mild upgrades eventually.
3) What is "too much" psi for the fuel system on the 24V's I think that 34psi is too much but not sure if it will harm the VP or not.
4) Are they capable of being regulated down to say the req 15psi needed for the VP?

i'd pass on the ddrp. no good for a modded truck and not the best for a stocker. i've never seen one with as much fp as you mention and in fact often see them pull down to dangerous levels with a stock truck or one with just an ez. i've seen several new ddrps pull down too low right out of the box. several vendors have quit selling them.

id go for the fass 150 or the airdog.

So which DDRP can I get if I need a cheaper LP? Is there a good DDRP?

They are still better than the stock LP. If you don't have money for a FASS or Airdog, you could always get the DDRP for now, and then save up for the MITUSA or a Fuel Boss mechanical LP that would use the DDRP as a backup.

Thats what I was thinking is just going with the FASS DDRP for now bacause that is in the budget and as long as it is better than the stockers.

I've heard also that the FASS DDRP has been no better if not worse than the stock lp with a stock truck...might want to just do some searching first...I'd hate to see you think you're saving some money now, and then still end up screwing yourself over. I've never heard anything good about the DDRP on these forums...

To answer your questions?

1. Yes it is. The FASS DDRP is a factory replacement aftermarket pump. If you can't go with a airdog or mitusa, then the DDRP is not a bad alternative.

2. Yes the DDRP can hold up to mods. If you plan on running twins, some heavy injectors and multiple programers then you might want to concider something different. If you are going to do some mild upgrades then you should be fine.

3. In terms of to much pressure I'm not sure on this. I have the DDRP and it is putting out 22 psi at idle and and WOT I can't pull it below 16.5 I thought I heard some place that the mid to higher twentys was to much but I'm currently trying to figure that out. If you find out let me know.

4. Can you regulate them down. Yes. Not sure its need as its is meant to be a factory replacement lift.

I hope this helps.

you can get a raptor for that can you not? Who you getting your ddrp from? Went on diesel dogs and they are a lot cheaper than that. For $8 more than you thinking of spending on the ddrp from wherever you got that price you can go to luke and get a raptor a much better pump that you will not need to change out later with added mods.
