i can't speak for or about the ATS but i can speak for the quality and workmanship in my Goerend transmission. it is built rock solid and has an awesome warranty. there are plenty of sponsors here that will be more than happy to get you a quote on one.

i have been in a truck with a sun coast tranny and it drove great too, i don't have first hand experience with them but they have made a name for themselves.

best thing is to look at ALL the options out there and base your decision on what will work best for you in your truck, that is in your price range and has a great warranty.

Default ATS Trans? AWESOME....

I have been running an ATS billet with co-pilot for 3-years.

For one, prices are down with increased competition. Secondly, it was the best upgrade every done to my truck. When the TC locks in, it's like getting kicked in the butt and you know you are NOT loosing a bit of power....

Shifting is positive, downshifting is positive and you can adjust the lock point in the truck for when you are towing...

All around, an awesome product.

one of only a few good things I have ever heard about ats in general. Maybe they make a decent product, but their customer service is what I have always heard really needs some help

FWIW, I have seen many complaints about them on the net.

There are many choices here and many prices as well.

- Goerend Bros.
- DTT
- HTS
- NADP
- Suncoast
- ATS
- Dunright
- and the list goes on

My likes are Goerend,DTT and Suncoast. The 02 has a DTT Full Billet, its handle alot of power over 600 hp.Make your chioce to what is good for you.I know ATS has paper work with the warranty and must be all in order for warranty work.

Hey, i have a 98.5 24 with the stage 1 ATS, five star and flex plate. I don't have the co-pilot yet. The trans nice and firm, but the five star converter is bucks when it locks. Sometimes I get turbo bark from my stock turbo. You think the co-pilot will help and does it stay locked when going through the gears, or does it unlock and lock right when it shifts. I'm afraid it will be hard every time it shifts.

Bud had an ats with 40 hooks on it plus many miles of abuse, sent it in to get freshened up then it was junk... Lasted 9 hooks and was limping in 4th constantly. Called them back gettin answers was a nightmare wanted him to spend another 3 k to fix it. He threw a fit abt how they just had it and they decided to cover it. Got it back was a totally different tranny case serial numbers and everything. Fittings in and out of the tranny were the wrong size since it was from a diff year truck and he lost 100 dollars worth of fluid on the road. Wouldn't cover that so they sent him adapters for the tranny so his lines would work... All this in abt 6 months. But customers service and they build quality has been suffering huge IMO
