pretty much, shift kits imitate what a performance valve body is designed to do. most shift kits involve re-routing fluid and drillin two holes. one to redirect some fluid, and the other to let fluid bleed off (the faster it bleeds off the sooner it allows the piston to return and allow engagement) or atleast that's my round about understanding
