so after i installed my redline chip i randomly lose throttel responce with the chip off but only when in gear and mainly after being on the highway for a lil bit, the truck will still free rev (it feels much weaker) but when in gear it wont acclerate or maintain speed it slowly falls off. but i turn on the redling and no acceration untill it kicks in and then all is good (pulls like a **** with that chip ) the connectins are all sodered and wraped very well with electical tape which was melted to the wires. if you guys got ne idea im open for them thx =D.

What is your fuel pressure?Mine does the same thing sometimes. APPS!!! I can shut off my truck and just pump the throttle a couple times and then it runs fine for a while. My fuel pressure never drops. And sometimes my shifting is a little weird if I'm just barely accelerating. Quite sure it is the APPS on mine. And I hope yours is too.But I am no Master Mechanic

 

any engine codes? IIRC p0260 is the IP death code..... if not try resetting the apps..... disconnect your negative battery cable for 30 min or so..... then connect the cables back up..... get in and turn the ingition key to the on position but do not crank.... slowly press the accelerator petal to the floor and then slowly bring it back up to the normal position. turn your truck off then crank the truck and test drive...... this helped a friend of mine and he swears it made the truck a little peppier....

 

That worked for mine too. But never stayed. Thats why I think my apps is on its way out.

 

Perhaps the VP44 is on it's way out.

Mine was doing the same thing when it was diagnosed as bad.

 

well i think the vp44 is jsut fine she can fuel like a **** and pressure is always above 12 and under 16. my guess is the apps as well however this problem did not happen as frequently as it is after this chip install. thx for the input guys. any more sugestion would be great =D

I'm with Benjamin on this,Cycle the key on and off 3 times and read the codes.This will give you a starting pointfor diagnosis rather than throwing money at it! Post the here and someone will decipher 'em

 

ill do but i know that every time the chip is used it throws codes, mainly becasue it ignores all sensors but throttel, still reads the other but just adds goobbs and goobs of fuel. also i reset the apps helped for a while then the sucker stoped working agin. fix it once more by turning on the chip and had throttel with only the chip. im kinda thinking it may be a loose conector or something in the wireing harness but it could be a retarted apps dieing on me. will post the codes and tell me your guys diagnosis. will also check them on alldata at school.
