Default Injectors to run with HE351...

What injectors to run....Same question, different list of mods.

I recently picked up a HE351 (60/60/9 if I'm not mistaken) from an '07 CR, and a set of stage 3 injectors. I'm a little worried that the injectors might be a bit too much for the turbo and the rest of my setup. I know I've heard of guys running all the way up to a stage 5 on this turbo on a 2nd gen, but I don't know how reliable it is.

I tow occasionally (usually no more than 10k,) but when I do, I don't want to worry about anything. Also, as a daily driver I don't want to worry about EGTs and excessive smoke, but I still want to have a big smile when I put it to the wood.

So... stage 3's too much?

I don't think smoke will be an issue with such a small exhaust housing, but I think with that injector you might have a little much fuel.

Why does the size of the exhaust housing have anything to do with smoke...?

What should I run for injectors...? RV275s?

bigger the exhaust housing equals more lag but better top end air flow. What hp rating are the stage 3's? And who's are they? You could prolly run them a lot of times it's trial and error

Gotcha. Took me a minute, but I'm pickin up what you're puttin down now. Less lag = less low-boost smoke.

I believe the injectors are about 100-110 hp...? They are new bosch injectors that have been flowed to the aforementioned rates. They came from Gillett Diesel here in SLC, UT.

Idiot question... Arent most stage 3's in the 100 horse range regardless of manufacturer?

I believe so but don't pay attention to stages I buy in ratings. If you had jammers I would say they make more smoke and less power than stated. The bosh ones should be good and prolly be able to run them. At least your not trying to run them with a hy35

Don't think it hasn't crossed my mind!

Actually, I may end up running the HE351 with stock injectors if I can't decide what to do.

I'll make a phone call today and find out exactly what I've got in those cute little yellow Bosch boxes in the garage.

I bet you could get away with 150's. All you have to do is use a little common sense and good judgement. Most 100 Hp injectors are pretty clean and drive really well on the road. You will have to eagle eye your mirror for a while until you get used to driving with them. After that it won't be too bad. 150's will be the same way.

The tried and true injectors are DDP's and F1 Diesel. However they are also at the top of the price range. I hear good things about Fireballs but never used them. My 100 hp Jammers are kind of smokey and I think I would be better off trading to a better brand of injector. Course I could have other issues and I choose to live in de-nile.

Also The housing on the HE351 is 9cm but it is also an undivided housing. I don't think you will have to worry too much about top end flow especially on a DD.
