Default HX40 Downpipe fit a HE351?

I just picked up a HE351cw from an '07 CR truck to put on my '01, but have heard conflicting stories about the downpipe. I do not have the cast elbow that the stock 3rd gens have because I was told that a HX40 downpipe would fit. True?

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks!

It will not fit. The flange is different.

Yes it will. However the hx40 uses a different flange than the HE351. My S300 was setup for an 05 truck and came with the cast elbow when I got it. I left the elbow off and called Source Automotive and ordered a "raw" hx40 style dp without a flange. Then I ordered a weld on flange that fit the S300 flange. You can do the same with your HE351.

Now I have found the flange cheaper than from Source but I can't remember where. I'll have to look and see if I can find it. But I do know for sure that Source can help you out.

Another thing to remember too is that if your current exhaust uses a 3.5" DP instead of a 4" you'll have to buy a new 4" pipe to replace the one that is just behind the DP since on most exhausts that is where it steps from 3.5 to 4. I did on my Expandit Exhaust system you might check yours to be sure.

I do have a 4" DP, so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm not scared to weld either, so I like the raw pipe and flange idea. Kazairl, if you remember where they were sold for cheap, that would be super cool!

Thanks guys!

I believe this is it. Measure the flange on your turbo to be sure.
