Default Lookin For A KDP Fix It Guide

Ok, better late then never. After 200,000 I'm finally gonna check the KDP on this truck. I got the repair kit ordered for the Vac pump so I figured I would do it all at the same time. So I am looking for any directions and or advice along with any known suppliers for the tab kit. I know their are several out there that have a kit for trucks up to the 98 models, but I did find one place a few years ago that had them for the 99's, I just don't remember where.

I will take any and all info you have on the subject here. I have finally decided I'm gonna read directions before I start this project instead of after it's tore apart.

Some say its not an issue with the 24Vs....I say do it anyway because Ive heard of pins dropping on 24V's (from Infidel on DTR) and you are better safe than sorry...

OK...you should be able to use the 12V kit ...I dont think the timing cover/seal or anthing else changed.
Correction....TST Products has the KDP kit for 24v's: http://www.tstproducts.com/browsepro...-or-99-02.html

I used to have TONS of info on this....this is what I can find so far:

http://www.tstproducts.com/index.asp...PROD&ProdID=64 (scrool down and open up the PDF file near the bottom)...

http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/Dowel_Pin/tab.htm

BD Power also had a very good how to but I cant seem to bring it up on their webpage. I'll keep looking. And I will e-mail you another guide if I can find it.

You definitely dont want to be standing there looking at something like this:

Got the rebuild kit today for the Vaccuum Pump. Lotta pages in that direction guide but it also came with a video. So I'l get it figured out with a video. Still lookin for any info I can get on the KDP kit's though. Can anybody tell me if the kit's for a 98 and 99 will be the same. Once I tear the truck down I won't have time to leave it sit while I wait on finding a new kit and get it ordered.

Sorry D...I looked, a lot of the info I had are old links that no longer exist plus I blew away some. I have a guide that I will e-mail you (if I can ever remember to e-mail it)....

I posted above some info above....there are a couple of kits available from TST Products. The kits MUST be different becuase I cant see them selling more than 1 kit if they were the same. 1 kit is for 94-98 (& 89-93) and the other is for 99-02. Dont ask me the difference because I dont know.

I know last year I talked to one shop about this and they didn't want to sell me one for the 98 cause they didn't think it would work but they were'nt sure. I know someplace out there i saw one for a 99, just can't find it now that I need it. I got probably 200 websights in my favorites for truck parts, so many of them that now I can't find what I'm lookin for anymore.

Thanks Doc.

The kits for the 89 - 93 and 99 - 2002 trucks from TST are the same (KDP 04). The 94 - 98s have their own kit (KDP 03).

TST KDP PDF

It's a good thing while your in there to check all the timing case bolts for tightness.

The TST link Dr. Evil posted has a link to the PDF file TST has in the reading.

So I can order a kit for the 89-93 and it is going to inlude the right parts to fix my 99. Just makin sure I understand cause it sounds strange.

Yes............the only thing that changes between the kits is the crankshaft seal and seal kit. Just happens the 89-93 and 99-02 use the same seal, nothing strange about that.

As long as you get TST KDP 04 you are fine. I can not speak for other companies onto what their kits cross with as TST is the only one I deal with for the KDP kits.

Shameless plug for the product in my store.
