I know it's not what you want to hear but the best set up to run the HRVP with is nothin but stock equipment. The HRVP will add some HP at stock levels but once you add any toys like programers or injectors the HRVP falls on it's face in comparison to the the Normal Pump(Standard Output).

If you do a search for HRVP in this section you will find some great info, way to much for me to just add it all to the post here or I would.

Yup, like Bubba said LOTS of info if you search. But you can make power with the pump. But some guys have made more power with a normal SO pump.

Ive had the pump for a while, and a buddy was getting rid of a truck and it had just been installed about a month and he said he would trade me even my vp44 for his and mine had 100000 miles on it so i figured ya couldn't beat that ya know. I been running 100hp injectors a 40 turbo and air dog 150 with adrenaline, and I recently stacked a smarty on the adrenaline and couldn't feel one bit of difference and I started researching and found out about the timing and the pump wire being tapped.

Can't complain about a deal like that on a pump. It's not that they won't make power but once you start Chipping your truck for some reason the HRVP holds back the additional power levels that you should be seeing. They aren't bad pumps just deceivingly named.

I don't even pretend to understand the inner workings as to why this is but it has been proven over and over again. Very few of these pumps even sold anymore since the facts became more well known.

I recommend selling the hot rod VP & obtaining an SO - that'll deliver the most volume, instead of pressure. More HP from an SO pump on VP trucks than anything else.

Besides, hot rods & monsters tend to have crappy idles & drivability issues.
