also you could raise the box of the truck off of the frame... if you really wanted to... we just dropped the tank, just make sure you syphon most of the fuel out of there 1st it can get kind of heavy! i noticed that with this new airdog and filters im getting 2-3 mpg better on the highway!! no lie!!
also i bypassed the stock fuel filter on the engine too. hope this helps!

If you drop the tank it also gives you a chance to clean it out after you check for crusties in there. Sometimes they can be pretty nasty and other times they re spotless but this gives ya the chance to know one way or other.

Personally I got rid of the stock filter canister for a few years and then put it back. Once you take it out you also lose the fuel heater and water in fuel sensor and if you get some bad fuel and that WIF sensor is unplugged your gonna pay a price so I ended up puttin it back. No right and wrong here, just personal preference.

Do the instructions show you how to and how to not bypass the filter?
I'm probably going to keep it.
Also, it may be a stupid question but what happens to my stock lift pump when the airdogs in? is it just sitting there doing nothing?

You don't need it (Stock pump) I remove mine or you can keep it bolted up your choice. Your air dog filters the fuel now. The instructions tell you not to use the stock filter at all as this would add restriction to pressure . As for water in the fuel and diesel geling in the tank if you use a good ( name brand fuel station ) you are ok. If you you need to add a aditive to feel better so be it just personal perference. :pca1:

I should get it today so I'll hopwfully look at the instructions and get to have time to install it at work if its slow.
I always use BP fuel so I should be ok but I dont wanna need fuel and be somewhere where there is no BP.
My BP sucks, there's no b-20 or anything cool, just regular diesel...

Got my airdog today, the insructions say take out the filter, does that mean just take it out of the canister? Also, what kind of threadlock approved for diesel fuel did you guys use?
And what is the best way to get to the vp44 to hook up the lines?
Thanks!

Bypass the stock fuel canister.

Yea I did during install, I worked myself up over nothing Airdog is such a great kit and easy to install, I love how my truck feels now and cant wait to get my tuner

Any idea where to hook up my fuel pressure guage from?
My kit from Luke came with this silver canister with female npt threads on it with 1 arrow showing fuel to guage, thats about as far I got during install.
