In '99 there was only one engine available as you aren't into the HO time era yet.

It's an ETC and uses the SO pump.

Default Exhaust type

Which size exhaust would I want to run the 4 inch or 5 inch. Ive read that the 4 inch is suitable for 450hp and below and the 5 inch is suitable for 450hp and above or does this variable even matter. Also which of the two has the best sound and would it sound better with a muffler or no muffler. Any advice is appreceated thanks

4" will flow plenty. 5" will give you a deeper sound.

The first of the week I noticed that the truck wasnt really making any low end power the boost would build but it was like it wasnt doin nothing for it. When in higher rpms it would run fine but it seemed and sounded like the turbo was working harding than normal. So I checked for leaks and noticed that the the boot from the turbo to the intercooler looked alittle rough, discolored and had what looked like streach marks on it, so I replaced it and tightened the rest of the boots down good. It seemed to help but it still seems alittle doggish on the low end. Checked for codes none showed up, fuel pressure ranges from 15-20psi with airdog. When I went to the local peterbilt shop to get a boot, I talked to one of the mechanics who had worked at a dodge dealership for 2 yrs and he told me that it was probably the vp44 going out. Could he right or would there be something else that would cause this problem? There was a new vp44 put on the truck before I bought it and then it was 2 months later when I putted the airdog on (truck wasnt never ran hard while running the stock lift up). So my question is what would or could cause this problem with the lack of low end power and please dont say its the vp44.

Thanks

PS: What would cause a little bit of white smoke to appear with the black.

Well I took the truck out today and it seamed to do better on the low end I believe that the boot I replace was leaking all the pressure from the turbo cause on the way home I got in alittle race with a ford and the truck had all the low end and high end power that it had before I replaced the boot. So hopefully that was the cause for what I was experincing but thanks for the replys and suggestions

Would anybody happen to know the size and type of angle the two rubber boots are that go into the intercooler and exit it? Also what size clamps are used. Thanks
