say what now about road spray and the bottom of the tank......everything i did was on top of the tank at the module and theres nothing open that goes to the tank for "road spray"
|
what are you talking about a "pick up".......the only thing i did that involved the tank was take the factory suction line off and replace it with FASS suction line and took off the filler neck to put the return coupler thing back in.......where are you getting anything about a pick up
|
You were talking about the old suction line leaking fuel, so I assumed you installed a new fuel pick up in the tank and the old one was sittin empty. Must have been wrong there.
So the fuel is leaking out of the top of the tank someplace right. You say the fitting that attaches the new fule line to the old stock pickup is not wet. I am still on track so far. |
correct, but i think fuel is somehow coming out of the old factory suction line

This where you lose me. coming out of the module you have A fuel pick up tube, a fuel return line, a dead tube that sometimes has a cap on it and your wiring for the fuel guage. By suction line I assumed you were talking about the fuel pick up tube. This should attach to a fuel line that leads to your new pump. Did you replace this fuel line bteween the tank and the new pump. Sorry about the confusion, but this is internet and typed words so sometimes you have to back up and re-group a little. But we will figure it out. |
its the only fitting you remove on the top of the tank module, the one towrds the back of the truck.
FASS calles it a suction line......not sure what else to tell ya besides its the line thats the furthest back on the module |
Ok, that the pick up/supply line. Did you remove it from the module.
If so and you put the same line back on then that is also a likely problem. Those little plastic pieces are a buggar to get off without damaging them. When you put em back on they don't lock on right. |
noooooooooooo no no no, the FASS replaced that with their own line and a new quick disconnect fitting.....the original factory pick up/supply line is just sitting on top of the tank. Is this where my leak is?
|
Since it is completely disconnected at both ends it may just be leaking out left over fuel. That would be the simplest thing it could be.
|
but only when the truck is moving?
