i just have to say how sad it makes me that a bunch of guys feel like they need to post trash about the welds. Every body had to start some where. i wish this guy the best and hope that you guys with your own shops can step up and show your horns that you have made by now with better welds i respect yalls opinions but this reminds me of OTHER forums.....

From a site standpoint, although were always glad to have new products on the market listed here as long as they are honest, judging by the post quoted above this thread was started as nothing more then an advertisement. Here at Diesel Bombers you don't have to be sneeky about advertising like all the other sites out there. We have the Basement section that is for nothing more then this kind of thing and it's completely free to advertise your home made products there.

So if your goal is simply to make a few sales, why clutter the tech sections with it. Just post it where everybody will see it in the Basement Enterprise section and avoid all this.

I have to disagree with you. If someone is trying to sell something and there is a part of it that isnt up to par it should be noted. as someone might not know a damn thing about welding and buy it with those types of welds and not know any better.
That is called looking out for each others interests. Now there is also classier ways to get the point across as well.
But you have to agree, that when selling a product you want the best advertising you can get. Posting a product with non professional welds isnt a way to drum business.

My $.02

i acutally wasnt trying to sell anything. i told dustin when i purchased the horn from him that i would make a thread and let ya'll know about his product. that is all i mean by starting this thread. this is the only site i come to anymore cause i like the way its run and bubba, i meant no advertisement, just letting my fellow cummins owners know about a good guy with a NICE product

but thanks for advice about where to post, im a newbie

Right, and when I started welding if I'd have made welds like that, and tried to make someone pay money for them my dad would have done more than make fun of my welds....

Any chance he makes one for a second gen thats taller,so you don't have to run the grid heater?
(since I don't care alot about how the welds look, and apparently they've improved)

if you tell him how thick the grid stack is, I bet he could figure it out and have it to you in three days from the second you pay him....... go for it !

its not a bashin of the welds but if yer gonna put yer stuff out there and not expect criticism then dont seel stuff....crappy welds make or break a great job..sorry thats how it is

those of us that weld for a livin and cannot produce welds like that to be accepted by our testers are critical of others werk..just as a painter would tell you yer bondo job sucks ***....im gonna tell ya if yer welding sucks ***....all small tubing or thinwall stuff like that needs to be tig welded....
