hmm, mine doesnt have nay holes in it at all, filters very good, now the crappy Fram boost one that was on 99 is junk, clogs up within 200 miles and was letting dust through it talk about junk, im running the S&B filter on the fram intake tube(got the filter from a friend for free, saving up for the whole kit)

I walked into a store in Boise, ID and pulled a brand new K&N off shelf and held it up to the light and you could see several good size pin hole through the media. If there is a hole in media there is a place for dirt to travel through!
I'm going to stay with my BHAF. I never had to maintain it at all other than to wash the outerwear pre-filter... I check mine by spraying the rubber intake tube with WD-40 and checking it later to see if there is any dust residue... So far in 86K miles I'm still clean!

Take a look into the Icebox. You get to choose what colors you want, what filter you want and best of all they are made in the U.S.A.. Plus the best warranty there is, lifetime even if your truck is wrecked.
