Default CNG system?

CNG mixing system,Anyone hear about this? A friend of mine says the ad said that fuel mileage would go up to 25mpg towing and like 35-40mpg empty.
It's supposed to add about 100hp also, anyone know anything about it?
I haul with the pickup so it would be awesome to get that sorta mileage.

Yup heard about it - are you talking about Methane or Propane?

I have my doubts that it would add much hp but it is supposed to increase mileage as it helps ensure all the diesel is burned.

I think they figure CNG is Methane,I'm not 100% on that.
I can't find any filling stations around for CNG anyway,so why bother messing up my bed just to sometimes get good fuel mileage?

Maybe later.

I have read about CNG and Propane injection systems. You start the engine on diesel and increase the mixture up to as little as 5% diesel and 95% CNG/Propane.

The diesel is just the spark. I think the kits are about $1000 plus installation plus the tanks.

You can fill up with natural gas at your house. But, with CNG you are limited by the quantity of gas because of the size of the tanks.

I've heard it adds another 100 hp too.

Mounting those tanks though really wastes box space. Can they be mounted under the box?

You got to keep in mind also that when those tanks go they really go boom! I have a buddy that lives in texas and he was running a set up like this and ended up having a bad tank, it leaked and ended up letting go. It destroyed the truck, he was very lucky, just something to keep in mind.

Yeah, I think those are photos of the owners truck. 1 propane tank and 1 CNG tank... for demo purposes.

I have seen them placed where the spare tire is or under along the bed rails. I don't know the range for a tank, but you'll run out of gas before you run out of diesel most likely.
