Default Running High Boost

okay, ive decided im going with twin turbos. my question is what needs to be done to the head to allow me to run these without blowing up? i know im going to go with 14 mm studs, but will that sufice? also what is fire-ringing and reaming the head?

12mm studs will be less hassle and make sure you at least oring it if not fire rings.

You do realize that you need to do some expensive machining for 14 mm studs?

IMO, 12 mm studs are good enough if you are under 700 hp.

12 mm will hold it together, fire ringing is a thin copper washer that surrounds the top of the cylinder that helps with blow by. 14mm you have to machine the head and block so if you want you can but that requires pulling the engine and basically rebuild it. Id go with 12 mm and just oring it

never put 14mm studs in a 24v block is to thin and they crack soooo much ezer go with the high strenth ones that are 12mm. i think schieds or haislys calls them A1's arb has them also. you will need new valve springs because its most likely you will make over 60 psi and your springs are rated at 60 psi guess waht happend the valves will be forced open. fire ringing is when they cut a grove in the block and head and insert a wire to form an extra gasket o ringing is usualy when they machine just the head and instert the wire. reaming the head is when they remachine the head for flatness because the flater the better. good luck
