the converter showed up today only a day late but they got my truck all together and I am back on the road will shake down and tow something with some weight sunday after the event sat. I haven't been able to drive my truck for over a month

 

Been there, done that and ya it sucks big time. You never how much you love these things till yur drivin your backup for a while. I've even had to just climb in and sit there a few times when it was'nt runnin just to get the feel. Congrats.

 

it really sucks when you don't have a back up. so have to borrow a truck if you need to haul something etc. But it is nice to have it back in the driveway

 

finally had a chance to get some hauling done with it and the temps on the trans are way down only got up to 147 pulling the 9% grade where before I was pushing over 200. Not an issue now..

 

What kind of Converter did you go with?

 

stayed with the one I had it's a converter shop converter. I think it had problems from the day I got it as the box looked like it was run over dropped of the dock then delivered. It never seemed to work right always wanted to run warm to hot. all they did when fixing it was replace the stator all the clutches etc were in great shape. So may have been an issue with converter from day one but this is the first time in a long time I was able to tow the trailer up the hill and stay under 220 and I had an extra horse and a half in it.. 2 mares and the colt 3 months old.
