I think a 4" straite turned out right before the rear tire is the loudest.

I know, But one of those FART CAN mufflers on it. If it'l make those dang 4 bangers that loud...imagine a cummins!

I have a 4" Dp going into 5" straight pipe, and then It y's out into 6" stacks. IMO it's the best tone, and is loud as hell when you step on it. At idle and cruising or light accel. it rumbles with deep throaty aggression.

5" straight with a 6"-8"x24" tip(stack converted to a exhaust tip).

I have 4" turbo back cool duals and unless you are trying to loose your hearing extra quickly these are plenty loud enough on a truck with a ring that is MIA like mine.

The drone is really bad at low speeds and the bark is really cool when you want it to be but otherwise it is tollerable. I for one think the 2nd gen is as loud as it needs to be but a 12V with a 5" straight pipe is really nice.

3rd gens aren't loud at all.

I for one would NOT put stacks in my bed on a daily driver as you will never get rid of the ringing in your head.

i dont think you're gonna get much louder than 5" straight...stacks will sound louder inside cause they are so close but the sound to the outside listner isnt much louder (if any)...tone will be different (bigger pipes=deeper tone)...and for the record, 2nd gens are much louder...but a 3rd gen sounds darn good with nothing but a 5" piece of tube
